Dear Jonah,
This has been a big week for you! Your first Halloween and you turned FOUR months old! Time is flying, I can hardly keep up. You are getting so big and handsome...
I love spending as much time with you as I possibly can. You are my precious little baby. Well, my precious big baby now it seems. HOW in the world are you four months old already??? You are so handsome, Jonah. I love your little expressions and those HUGE blue eyes. SO handsome!!
It's getting harder to get you to sit still for your Momma's many photoshoots!! When you were teeny tiny you didn't move around that much. Now you want to MOVE IT, MOVE IT...
Look at those chunky thighs!!!
Waking up to your smiling little face and picking you up from school are my favorite parts of the day. I so look forward to seeing your little face each afternoon!! I love that your teachers do artwork with you each week. I mean, you're not exactly a participator at this point, but they make the cutest stuff with your little hands and feet. I cherish this artwork!!
We didn't take you trick or treating this year for Halloween, but we did have dinner together which you slept all of the way through, in your costume!
It has started cooling off in Alabama. A cool front blew through and it's positively chilly! Your wardrobe is extensive (Momma is a little crazy about buying you clothes!!) but you definitely need a few more cold weather items! Don't worry, I can take care of that quickly!!
We went to church together on Sunday and I had to bundle you up really good..
I love the fall. You are such a little snuggle bunny when you're all bundled up, especially when you have a hat on. Your Dad and I cover you in kisses. You're not too fond of us attacking you with millions of kisses, but you accept it (your Dad does it more than me, I promise!)...
The next week we are going to spend as much time together as possible. Your Dad leave for Texas next Sunday morning. I can't think about it. For now we're going to go on as many fun outings and coffee dates and have lots of morning and evening snuggles. LOTS!!! We are going to miss him so, SO much..
I love you more than I could have ever imagined little badger. You are my heart!!!
Love,
Momma
ps. We got your 3 month photos back and I LOVE THEM!!! You are such a doll baby!!

SEVENTEEN
Dear Jonah Knox,
You are going to be a TEXAS boy soon!!!!!!
I love you sweet baby boy.
Love,
Momma
You are going to be a TEXAS boy soon!!!!!!
Your Daddy accepted a new job this past week located in The Woodlands, Texas. We are packing it up and moving home. We've lived here in Alabama for two years, which was our plan. Everything has just worked out so perfectly. I don't know all of the details, but I know God will work it out. He provided this amazing opportunity for your Dad and I, so we will leave the rest up to Him.
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am. You will get to grow up around family. Friends. I love it. I cannot wait. It's going to be an adventure. Daddy leaves us in two short weeks. You and I will be here for awhile longer. We're going to sell our beautiful house here in Alabama.
We called your Mims & Papa, and Ammy & Bacca and they are sooooo excited you're moving home close to them. They have grand plans to spoil you even MORE rotten than you already are!!
The time we've been here has been the best. Alabama will always hold a special part of my heart. You were born here. We have had the best of times in Birmingham. Made lots of friends and had a grand adventure. Alabama the beautiful will be missed!
Soooo, Texas. I'm positive you will be an Aggie fan...
See?! Already an Aggie fan at 17 weeks old. Look how absolutely precious you are. A little doll baby. I love you sweet baby boy.
Love,
Momma

SIXTEEN
Baby Badger,
We have had the best week! Your sixteenth week to be exact. You love school and your teacher, Miss Anna. I'm getting used to the idea of being away from you all day. It's not my favorite, but it makes the evenings so sweet. And mornings together. And weekends together. You get the picture. We have the most fun while we're together.
Speaking of fun together, on your Dad's days off during the week you guys have TONS of fun. Boy fun. Daddy Badger fun. I came home from work to find you guys hanging out. You were still in your pj's. At 5pm. Whhhhattt?! It made me laugh. You were as happy as can be.
I love to watch you two play. Your Dad loves you more than anything and I love that. I walked into the living room yesterday and saw this...
Dad was in your play yard with you. This could be my favorite photo of all time. Your little face. Your eyes. And your little fist on Dad's shoulder. Ahhh, melts my heart. I think you two were planning something mischievous. I just know it.
Sometimes when Dad feeds you, he plays George Washington with you. It makes me laugh so hard. He puts the white burp cloths on your head and talks to you in a funny voice. I loooooove it!!!
You two are the cutest. My heart.
I love to pick you up from school. You're really content there ad it does my heart good, but I love to see your little face catch sight of me or your Dad and I can tell that you know us. We're your peeps.
Playing all day at school makes you a tired Badger when you get home. You're worn out.
I noticed this week that you're really trying to sit up more. Holding your head up on your own. You straighten your back and move your head around, staring at anything that catches your eye. You still look like a little bobble head, but your're getting better by the day. It makes me a little sad. Sometimes I want you to just stay tiny and my precious little bitty baby.
I love you sweet boy and I love to see you try new things. You've started eating your hands and watching them move around. I don't think you've figured out that you actually control their movement. You're mesmerized by them, it's the sweetest thing. Also, this week you really liked laying in your play yard. Staring up at the farm animals and eating your hands...what a life, right?!
We went shopping on Saturday morning. You looked like a little pumpkin in your cute onesie. Dad had to close, but we had the best morning together.
We love our Jonah-boy. You're the best part of our days little man. Love you with my whole heart!
Love,
Momma

FIFTEEN
Dear Jonah Knox,
You started school this week. Dropping you off the first day felt like the worst moment of my entire life. I did not like it at all. You on the other hands were curious like a little cat. Looking around at the lights and toys. Your teacher's name is Miss Anna. She's impossibly sweet and loves you to pieces. I like her a lot. You attend Valley View Baptist Pre-School, here in Leeds where we live. It's a smaller school and everyone knows each other. They just adore you. It's so cute.
You wore the crab outfit that Uncle Cody and Aunt Jade bought you to school your first day...
You looked so precious. Miss Anna sent me texts and photos throughout the day. You slept for hours (more than you do at home, little stinker) and were a perfect angel.
You also made your very first artwork at school. It made my heart want to burst with pride. It is seriously the cutest thing ever...
And, you quickly started learning new tricks. Miss Anna puts you in a high chair and you LOVE it. You've never sat in your high chair at home so I tried it and sure enough, you love it. You watched me cook dinner and promptly fell asleep. You look like such a big boy sitting there watching me.
You're not attending school every day. Dad's off a couple of days each week so for now you're only going to school three or four days each week. On days that he's off you two spend the day together. Napping. Thrifting. Playing. Watching baseball. You go with Dad everywhere he needs to go. It is the cutest thing ever. Dad sends me photos of you when he's keeping you and I LOVE it!!
We have the best time together. Our little family. We love you, Jonah. So very much!!
We take family walks in the evening and you love to look around in your Baby Bjorn. You reached another milestone this week. You turned around and now face outward, rather than facing me. Dad said that you were looking at every possible thing you could!!
Some days when Dad's off, you and he take me to work. We all go together. I love that. It makes my heart happy. Sometimes we stop at Chickfila for chicken biscuits. I love those mornings.
You are such a big boy now. You don't look like an itty bitty baby any longer. If I had to guess I would say that you probably weigh 15 pounds now. Maybe a little more. You're a big boy! Momma's chunky. Your personality cracks me up. You LOVE to smile and laugh and I can already tell..you're going to be a little scamp. Take after your daddy...
We've had the best week together. It seems like every week is the best. Honestly, I can't believe you've been with us fifteen weeks already. And then, it feels like a lifetime too. I can't remember time before you arrived in our life. You are the very best part of us. We love you so much, baby boy.
I can't wait to spend another week with you. I am so blessed. You're perfect in every little way.
Love you to the moon and back,
Momma

FOURTEEN
Jonah Balogna,
How in the world are you fourteen weeks old this week? You celebrated another milestone this week...THREE MONTHS OLD! That seems impossibly old to me. I think you just need to slow your roll, baby boy.
Mims was here all week keeping you company while I went to work. She flew home to Texas on Friday afternoon. You have the best grandparents, that love you more than anything!! I'm so thankful you were able to stay with Mims for my first two weeks back at work.
Daddy took the weekend off unexpectedly and spent it with us! It was a treat!! We had so much fun shopping, eating, sleeping in and cuddling you REAL good. You were such a good little boy all weekend.
We went to church on Sunday and I had so much fun dressing you up in your nice, Southern boy church clothes. You wore an adorable blue bubble with a train embroidered on the collar that your Ammy and Bacca bought for you. Ammy also bought you the cutest pair of church shoes. You've worn them before and they're alllmost too little for you (okay, they're kindof a lot too little), but your crazy Momma just had to have you wear them to church this morning. You were not happy about it. I took you to the nursery at church for the first time. I wasn't sure that I wanted to (I'm having a major case of separation anxiety right now), but did it anyway, and as soon as church was over I headed to pick you up. The nursery worker told me you were good, and you pooped as soon as we left you. Hahahahahahaha. SERIOUSLY, badger. You know how to work it. It made me laugh SO hard I couldn't talk. Oh my goodness. Nonetheless you're the cutest poopy badger I know...
You're wearing all of your 3-6 month pj's now. I still put you in some of your larger 0-3 month ones, but I pulled out your pirate jammies and put you in them. You are seriously the cutest little nugget on the block, Jonah Knox. I am so smitten by your little cheeky face!!
Every morning these days you wake up between 5-6am for your feeding (right now you're going to bed around 7-8pm, eating at 11pm and then sleeping until 5-6am most nights!) and I get up, feed you (you gulp it down so fast these days) and then I leave you in bed with us. We snuggle until I have to go to work. It's the best way to start my day. Snuggled up next to you...
You smell like the sweetest little baby. I can't get enough of your cuddles and smiles. Love 'em! Your little face cracks me up. You make the BEST expressions...
This week I noticed something unusual. You would get really, really still and concentrate on your hands. Watching them move, like they were aliens. It is the funniest thing ever. You're just noticing that you have them. I think you might be a little scared of them. Your eyes get HUGE as you watch them move about...
My days at work at busy from the moment I walk in the door, and I LOVE my job, but I so look forward to that moment that I'm in the car on my way to YOU. You're the best part of my day. Tomorrow will be a big one for us both. It's your first day at daycare. Lots of thoughts about it this weekend. I hope it's a good day for both of us. I'll be thinking about you until the moment I pick you up tomorrow!!
I love you more than you could ever know baby boy.
