Baby Badger,
You're not a badger anymore. Badgers don't care. They don't wake up to eat. They don't cry. You are deffffinitely NOT a badger any longer. You care. You wake up to eat and you are a craaaanky baby if Momma and Pops don't feed you right away. And I mean RIGHT away. Like get that milk in my tummy NOW, Momma.
You're still the cutest nugget on the block, even when you're mad. Fact. And sometimes I laugh at you when you cry, don't be mad at me. But you're a tooootal faker, Jonah. Your fake cry is hilarious. Your Daddy loves it too. You kind of squeal and do this little wahh thing. Funny stuff. You're not happy that we laugh at you, but you're so stinking cute.
You're nine weeks old today, and yesterday you were officially TWO MONTHS OLD. How is my baby this old already?!?...
On Saturday night we met friends for dinner and then went to Whole Foods to find delicious desserts. You were a doll baby until we got to Whole Foods so Dad decided to carry you around instead of carrying you in your carseat. You love to be held so you were just fine until we stayed entirely too long past your bedtime and then you got cranky. You're a good little boy!
We went shopping on Friday (you and I) and you slept through the whole experience. I woke you up to feed you at Starbucks. The baristas all wanted to look at you so they came around the counter to ooh and aah at your cute little self...
We went to church on Sunday and both wore stripes. I love to match my little man. You looked so adorable! You slept through worship (and it's not exactly quiet) and then immediately woke up hungry after the music faded. Somehow I knew that was going to happen...
Each day I can tell you're growing. Getting longer and chunkier. I love it. You are extra kissable! You're fun to play with now because you smile....and you definitely make your Daddy and I work for those smiles. The goofier we act the more you like it. I love it when you open your mouth and grin. It's the best feeling ever!!
You look more like your Daddy every day. It's the cutest thing. He has a little mini-me now! Your face is changing, looking more like a little boy and less like an infant. I love to see the changes, but I feel like you're growing too quickly. I love your little squishy cheeks!
I think you're the most beautiful baby I've ever laid eyes on...
Speaking of eyes, yours are still blue like your Momma's. I hope they stay that way. You can look like your sweet Daddy and have your Momma's blue eyes!
Bathtime is still my favorite, and you love it too. If you're cranky (you seem to be crankier in the evenings right now, during the day you're a peach) we give you a bath and you're perfectly content to hang out in the tub for awhile..
I love your little serious faces. You stare at me so intently, I wonder what you're thinking. You know the sound of my voice and recognize Daddy and I. If you're playing with Dad and I walk out of the room you turn your head to watch me. It's the cutest thing. Sometimes I will be in the kitchen baking or cooking and you will be laying on your Daddy on the sofa. Your Dad and I will talk about our day and you will look from one of us to the other. Back and forth, like you're fully following the conversation. It's so precious.
You are precious baby boy. I love you to the moon and back!
Happy 2 Months!
Love,
Momma

EIGHT
Zzzzzzjoann,
I know. What in the heck, right!? Well Dad has been calling your "Joan" in funny accent that makes me laugh this week. I had to document it. You'll probably kick him in the shin when you're old enough to read this. Don't tell him I'm telling you.
Sooo, hey little badger. You're EIGHT weeks old this week. How is this even possible?! Each week just keeps getting better I must admit. We have our routine down and you've settled into our life. A part. It's comfortable now. I can't remember time before you came to be. Weird, right?!
Your eighth week has been SO much fun!! Mims is visiting from Texas and we have been carting your all over Birmingham, and even to Atlanta...
She arrived last Wednesday and has been thoroughly enjoying her time with you. You love to talk to her...
Daddy was off on Sunday so we decided to have a little fun and head to Atlanta for the Piedmont Park Summer Arts and Crafts Festival. I picked out your outfit carefully because I didn't want you to get a sunburn. You looked SO adorable..
The park is so beautiful and the weather was perfectly gorgeous! The festival had food trucks and your Momma, Daddy and Mims got to try fun new treats. We browsed crafts and viewed fun artwork. You drank lots of milk on our picnic quilt and took a nap in your stroller...
After the festival we went shopping (of course, because your Momma and Daddy LOVE to shop) and decided to go to Pappasito's Mexican Cantina for tex-mex. Pappasito's reminds us of Texas and we love to go when we're in Atlanta. You snoozed through dinner and were such a good little boy all day!
This week has been so fun. I impatiently wait for you to wake up to see if you're going to smile at me. I love it! You still take a nap and go to bed pretty easily...
Because you're growing so quickly you fit in all of your cute 0-3 month outfits. I love it!! Before you were born I went a little crazy buying you clothes. It was one of my favorite things to do (it still is). You look so cute in your outfits. Every where we go people stop us to peek in your car seat to check you out and comment on your adorablness. I am so proud to be your Mom!
I have four weeks left at home with you (including this week) and I want to make every single second count. I can't think about leaving you yet, it breaks my heart. So, the plan is to hang out with you every day and cuddle you every chance I get.
Daddy is taking the week off next week to hang out with us and we're going to have so much fun! And, you reach another BIG milestone next week... TWO MONTHS OLD!!
I love you so much little man. I feel blessed to be your Momma.
Here are my favorite photos of you this eighth week of your little life...
Love you to the moon and back baby doll,

SEVEN
Jonah boy,
You're seven weeks old this week! We have been completely chilled out, piled up and lazy on this seventh week of your little life.
We have a routine down now and I thought you might like to know what a day in the life of your seventh week looks like....
Each morning you wake up around 5-6am depending on what time you actually got into bed. I take you out of your crib and lay you really close next to me. We go back to sleep until Daddy's alarm goes off at 8 am. I get out of bed and leave you laying in bed next to Dad and you usually sleep until 8:30 or so when it's time for Daddy to get ready for work...
Once you start to stir I snatch you out of bed, change your diaper, put you in the jogger and off we go on our morning jog. For the next 45 mins you contentedly chew on your hands and look around while Mom works out. We listen to Pandora and the bright morning sunshine makes your cute little eyes squinty.
Back at the house I feed you, change you again and get you dressed for the day. Some mornings we go shopping, or meet friends. Other times I play with you until you get fussy and can't keep your eyes open. Once that happens I know you're ready for your morning nap. Nap time is so easy right now. I lay you in our big squishy bed on your belly and you fall right to sleep! You usually sleep until 1pm or so, sometimes later. Then we repeat the whole process...eat...play...nap...
While you nap I shower and grab a bite to eat. Sometimes I crawl into bed with you and nap. I love our play time. It's my favorite. I anxiously wait for you to wake up from your nap so we can play!!
Around 8pm it's into the bath tub you go. Daddy lotions you up and gets you ready for bed. For the last week or so you're in bed around 9-10pm. Before you go to bed your Daddy loves on you and spends time with you. He cuddles you in the MOST awkward positions, but you don't seem to mind. You love your Daddy time...
You're getting so much bigger and have a mind of your own these days. Not quite the badger you used to be, but I love it. You're showing me who you are now. Smiling at me, laughing and cooing. It is the best feeling. When your little cheeks scrunch up and you stick out your tongue because you're smiling so big. It is indescribable. I love you so much it makes my heart ache. In the best of ways.
I love that you're such a happy little boy.
I look forward to bathtime each night. It's so much fun to bathe you with Daddy. Just the three of us. Our little family. Do you realize how much we love you?? You are our world.
We went to see Dr. Russel on Monday and you weight TWELVE pounds and six ounces. You're 23 inches long. Growing so big and chunky. I love it!!
I love this photo of you!! You look like a miniature Popeye wrapped up in your Liam the Brave swaddle blanket. That is my favorite baby blanket. So soft. You love it!
Momma and Daddy celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary last Thursday. We had delicious food and treats and ended up spending the entire day cuddling with YOU. Yep. It was a great day!
Your Mims is coming to visit tonight and will be here for an entire week. She missed you terribly after we left Texas and just had to see you again! We're going to have so much fun with her!!
I love you so much sweet baby boy! Here are my favorite photos this week. I just LOVE your cute little toes. They look exactly like your Daddy's and that makes me smile!!
Happy SEVEN weeks Jonah love.

SIX
Dear Jonah,
For most of your sixth week we were still in Texas. We flew home to meet Daddy on Saturday afternoon. He missed you more than words can say. Each time I spoke with him while he was in New York and we were in Texas all he wanted to know is how you are, he could tell from the photos I sent him that you were growing like a little Texas weed. He missed you so terribly!!
It does seem like you've grown overnight. Before we left for Texas you fit in all of your newborn clothes. About half way through our ten day stay they suddenly quit fitting you!! I took tons of clothes and half didn't fit by the time we came home to Alabama! Ahh, it makes your Momma sad. You no longer fit in your sweet little newborn footies. And, your newborn diapers are getting too snug. You're getting to be quite the chunky little monkey! When we left you were also drinking about 3oz of formula and/or breast milk per feeding, now you're drinking a minimum of 4oz, and sometimes 5oz!! CRAZY!!
Slow your roll, little man!! The faces that you make still make me laugh. They're so cute. Sometimes you stare at me so intently that I wonder what you're thinking. So serious! Then, you'll crack a smile at me and my heart will literally melt. You are so adorable!! Here are a few of my favorites this week...
The highlight of this week (besides coming home to your Daddy) was giving you a bath in your big boy bathtub. We've been improvising (aka- sponge baths) until you fit in it and finnnnally you're big enough. You were seriously the cutest little thing. SO stinkin' chunky and cute. Ahh, I'm in love with your little rolls!!!...
I feel like you get a little bigger every day and I have to soak you in or I'm going to miss it! I love how chunky you've gotten. It makes you extra kissable!!
You are so precious to me!
We're getting back into our routine now that we're home. I miss our Texas family dearly. You're napping as I write this and you look so peaceful. It's almost time for you to wake up. I love our time together. You are my favorite little guy to cuddle!
Love you to the moon (and back plus SO much more!!!),
Momma
