THIRTY FIVE

Dear Jonah Knox,

You're EIGHT months old today!!!

You have eight teeth, two on bottom and six on top. They're so cute (but sharp!). Your favorite foods are squash and you love bananas. You still drink your  milk, but you're eating lots of baby food, and even some table food. You are a wonderful eater!! You LOVE to eat.

Anytime that you see me, or your Daddy taking a bite, or even a drink of something you spit our your paci and start moving your fingers. You want a taste too!

Every evening after your bath we have play time. You love to play and roll around on the floor. You've learned how to sit up so well! When you get tired of sitting you throw yourself back and proceed to kick up your feet and just play and talk to us. You're the cutest little boy, EVER!!

While we're at Mims and Papa's house, your Mims keeps you each day. I can hear her singing songs and playing with you each day. I feel so blessed to have family around us now. You will grow up knowing and loving your Grandparents. That makes me SO happy even though I just KNOW you're going to be spoiled rotten!!

I love you to the moon and back, Jonah!
Love,
Momma

ps. Happy 8 Months!!!

THIRTY FOUR

Badger,

We officially live in TEXAS now.

It is a weird feeling. I'm excited about our future as a family. I'm sad to leave our beautiful friends and lovely house behind in Birmingham. We have so many amazing memories there. Packing it up and getting on the road was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

We headed out last week, late Thursday night. A whole bunch of your Momma and Daddy's friends came over to help us load everything up. Your favorite, Miss Anna was there to hold you, and love on you while we got the truck loaded. You ended up falling asleep while she was holding you. I miss her already. She took care of you from the first day we took you to daycare. I am so thankful Anna Newman came into our life, and I count her as a friend. I plan to make sure you grow up knowing her and how much she loved you when you were itty bitty and Momma had to go to work!

We went to eat with Anna and her family at Cracker Barrel before we left. It was a big night for you. It was our last official night in Alabama, and the very first time you sat in a big boy seat at a restaurant! You looked so big and proud of yourself!!

On Tuesday I took your teachers Valentine's treats. It was very bittersweet. Your last gifts to the teachers of Valleyview Baptist Pre-School!

Daddy drove the big yellow truck, and Mims and I rode with you in our truck. We were loaded dowwwwn to the ground. Max and Charlie rode in their kennels in the back of our truck alllll the way to Texas! It was an adventure, and you were the PERFECT little boy, Jonah. You were so good! You talked and laughed and just slept for most of the trip.

We were on the road on Valentine's Day! It didn't feel very romantic to me...driving...but I was happy to be with you guys. My loves! I did send out a Valentine's Day card from you...

You're the cutest little Valentine. My little chunky!

Eveyday you look more like a little boy to me and less like a baby. It's crazy to watch. I always wondered what it would feel like to be a Mom and it is better than I could have ever imagined. Being YOUR Momma is the best!!

I love you baby boy!!
Love,
Momma

THIRTY THREE

Badger,

It's February 12th and we were supposed to close on our house today! The closing has been delayed to Thursday. Mims picked your Daddy up earlier from the airport and we are officially REUNITED with him!!!

For good! I am so very happy!!

The last week, and for the next couple of days we are going to be packing all of our stuff up. I started taking things off the wall in your room and it was so hard for me to do. I love your room so much. I took a bunch of photos yesterday before I began so I would have them to keep and to show you.

It is a special room for the most special little boy in our life. We love you so much, Jonah boy.

And speaking of people who love you, Mim has been with us for two weeks now helping me pack everything up. I am so thankful to have her here with us!!

I am very emotional and have such mixed feelings. I am happy for new oppourtunities and blessings, and I am also sad to be leaving great friends behind in Birmingham. I know we will stay friends, but distance is hard sometimes.

Most of all, I'm happy that we will be together as a family. Me, you and Daddy. We are going to make new memories together in Texas.

Love you SOOOOOO very much!!

THIRTY TWO

Jonah,

We're baaaack in Alabama!! We landed late Sunday night and Mims is with us!

Auntie Shelby's wedding was just beautiful! You were such a sweet little boy the entire weekend. You were passed around because everyone wanted to hold the cutest guy there...

I have a funny to tell you. On the flight home to Alabama, Mims had you in her lap on the plane and was bouncing you on her lap. You had just drank 6oz of milk and apparently all of the bouncing was just TOO much for you. You puked your ENTIRE 6oz ALL over your Mims, her scarf, her skirt and yourself. Mims and I looked at each other and just busted out laughing. I mean, what else could we do?! You never spit up, and you're such a good baby. You had just had enough.

Needless to say, we were ready to be home! It was really hard leaving Daddy this time, but I just told myself that the next time we see him it will be for good.

We have a lot to do the next week. Mims is going to help me pack up everything here at the house and we close on Tuesday, February 12th. Daddy flies in next Tuesday and then we have to be out of our house on Friday.

I can't think about packing it all up just yet. It makes me sad. I love this house and the home we've made here, SO very much. I will miss Alabama. We brought you home from the hospital here and I will always cherish our memories in Birmingham!

Momma loves you so much sweet  boy!

ps. you've started sleeping through the night since we've been home from Auntie's wedding!!! This makes night two that you haven't woken up. Such a bittersweet feeling!

Love,
Momma
