THIRTY ONE

Baby Jonah,

This week has been really hectic for your Momma! You had your 6 month photo shoot on Sunday, and we attended a Birthday party on Saturday night. I'm trying to get our stuff together for Texas and take care of the house.

WHEW.

Momma is tired!

We leave on Thursday to fly to Texas for Auntie's wedding. I love that you're always going to know Jade and Josh as your Aunt and Uncle! How cool is that?! You won't even remember when they weren't married! I love my siblings and just know you will love your Aunts and Uncles so very much.

Mims and Papa are picking us up at the airport and we're going straight to a party for Auntie Shelby! I can't wait to see our family.

When we return from Texas, your Mims is coming back with us. She's going to help Momma pack up the house and get ready to move to Texas!! It's going to be a crazy two weeks, but soon we will be all packed up, moved and together with Daddy!

Love you sweet baby,
Momma

THIRTY

Dear Jonah,

Daddy flew in for a really short visit on Saturday night. We hadn't seen him since my birthday at the beginning of January. Even though the visit was short, it was very sweet! We had the best time thrifting and spending time together as a family!

This will be Dad's last trip to Birmingham just to visit. The next time he flies in, we will be driving back to Texas WITH him!! Our little family will be reunited!!

This coming weekend you and I will be alone, and then the following weekend we're flying to Texas for your Auntie Shelby's wedding. We have so much to do in a short period of time!!

I love you to the moon and back, Jonah Knox!
Love,
Momma

TWENTY NINE

Baby Badger,

Dad flew back to Texas after my Birthday celebration last week so it has just been you and me, sweet baby. We've been having LOTS of Momma-Baby bonding time.

We've gone to the park...

I've given you lots and lots of hugs and kisses...

You are my sweet little chunky! I love that you recognize me now and smile when you see me. If I leave the room you're in you will pitch a fit until I come back into your sight, which makes things a litttttle bit more difficult since Daddy is in Texas and we're here alone together. Basically you come everywhere I do. We are a package deal!

This week is snowed! I didn't take you out in it because you're too little still, but we stood at the window for the longest time. You loved seeing the snowflakes come down around the house...

Speaking of house, we showed the house last Friday and the buyers made us an offer! The inspection is this coming Friday and if everything goes well we are on our way to Texas to live with Daddy!! I am SO thrilled! God is amazing, sweet boy! Our house hasn't been on the market very long at all and He provided the perfect couple to buy and love our little home!

While it snowed, we stayed warm indoors. You are so much fun to play with now. You roll round, laugh and try to grab my glasses! Nothing is safe from your chubby little hands!!

On Friday night after work, Miss Anna called and asked if we wanted to go to dinner with her. I was so happy she called and invited us. The weekends are so long without your Dad. I am so very thankful for our sweet Birmingham friends. They take good care of us, meet us for lunch and dinner and help us pass the long weekends. I love our friends, Jonah! Having friends maked life sweeter.

While at dinner Miss Anna convinced me to let you taste a lemon. To my surprise, you LOVED it, and kept leaning in for more. You haven't met any treat or food that you don't like. You're just like your Momma. We love some food!

I can tell you're growing bigger every day and it breaks my heart just a little bit. I love seeing your personality come though, and booooy do you have personality for days little man. You are such a little ham!! You get that from Daddy. I love your little grin!

You love to play and laugh! I love to play and laugh WITH you. It is a honor to be your Momma!

Love you to the moon and back!
Momma

TWENTY EIGHT

Sweet Jonah Knox,

You're twenty eight weeks old, and it's officially 2013.

I feel bittersweet to see 2012 come to an end. It marked the absolute best year of my entire life. YOU came into the world in 2012. My life is forever changed by a blue eyed scamp.

Before you were born I imagined what it would feel like to be a Mom. Wondered what you would look like. How it would feel to see your face for the first time. To rock you every night and hold you close. To feed you and love on you. To have a baby. Wondered how important you would be to me. How our family would change. Lots and lots of questions and lots of thinking about you.

And then you came. And life is better. Sweeter. You've made each day more important. Each day special. I love you more than I could have possibly imagined. I know I say that a lot. More than I could have imagined, that is. But it's so true Jonah. I felt you move in my tummy every day. I would lay on the sofa and you would move all around. Your Dad and I would just watch you kick and turn. It was the coolest feeling. But I can't explain how I felt the first time I saw your little face. The first time I held you.

You're part of us. Our precious baby. I want you to know how much you are loved. Every day of your life, as you are, Jonah.

SO, I said all of that to say that by FAR, I think 2013 will be the best ever. Our first full year with you, little man. You will turn one. Start crawling, maybe even walking! So many things to look forward to and celebrate. I can't wait!!

Daddy came home this week for my 30th birthday!! We had the best times celebrating together. It was the BEST birthday yet! We went to Atlanta and had so much fun being together. You were the perfect little boy.

Dad flew back to Texas early this morning. He's coming back in ten days, so we don't have to wait very long!

This week you're starting to look like a big boy to me. I feel like you've grown. Gotten longer. Heavier. And, you look more like a little boy than a little baby.

Every night we play on the floor for an hour before bed. You roll around and laugh. We have the best time together. I can tell that you're trying to crawl now. Scoot. I'm not ready. Not ready for you to be this big. Not yet. I still want my little baby. It's crazy to me how quickly you're growing...

You are the most precious thing in the world to me. I love you to the moon and back little man!

Love,
Momma

...and my favorite photo of you this week. Indeed you are, little man...

TWENTY SEVEN

Jonah,

My heart is so full it may burst from a mixture of pride, happiness and sadness. I know. What a mixture, right?!

You just rolled over.  And over. Annnnd over again.

Tummy to your back, then back to tummy. A little rollin' machine you are. I can't believe it. I sat on the floor and tears started to well up in my eyes. I am so proud of you, but you're breaking my heart. Please stop getting so big on me. Where's my itty baby??

Gone. He's a strong, 27" long, 19.5lb baby boy now. No more itty bitty little baby.

You're 27 weeks old today.  Time flies when you're having the time of your life. The very best time of your life. You are also SIX MONTHS OLD now. I can't believe it. Half way to a year. How is that possible?!

Tonight I got so cracked up watching you. You have a brand new trick that I discovered this weekend. You were trying to get into something and I shook my head and said Noooo, sir. Nooo Nooo. You shook your head no right back at me. I thought it was a fluke at first.

So I kept shaking my head and would stop, then you would shake YOUR head. It makes me laugh so hard!!! You're figuring out tricks!!! It is the cutest thing. No wonder you're rotten. You make me laugh when I tell you no sir. Goodness you're getting big.

Daddy flies in tomorrow night. I have to go to Atlanta tomorrow to market for work. You're going to go home with Miss Anna at 3pm when she gets off work. She's going to keep you until I get back from market. Then we're going to pick Daddy up from the airport. He's flying in for five whole nights. I am so excited! Your Momma is turning THIRTY next Monday.

It was always my plan to have a little baby before I turned 30, and you came along at the perfect time. You are my heart. I can't remember life before you came along. I can't wait to show your Daddy all of your new tricks. He is smitten by you, and so am I.

I love you with my entire heart little June Bug.
Love,

Momma
